My label Arthur Avenue is all about being fun and unconventional and is for anyone who loves fashion, has a unique sense of style and cares about the environment. Arthur Avenue garments are a blend of fabulous vintage fabrics and surprising design. Individuality and meticulous handcrafting means that these garments can be enjoyed not only from season to season, but also from generation to generation.
In the modern world of fashion, where most designers are endlessly trying to flog the 'latest look' this notion is both rare and refreshing. Recycled fabrics, trims and accessories play a big role at Arthur Avenue, adding a touch of quirkiness to each of the designs. The use of these materials means that you can enjoy beautiful clothing without having a negative impact on the environment.
Arthur Avenue is the brainchild of designer Natasha Dwyer. With a love of fashion, loads of creative talent and plenty of entrepreneurial zeal, Natasha set out to create a lively line of clothing from quality vintage and recycled fabrics. When designing for Arthur Avenue Natasha takes into account current trends, however she relies mostly on her creative vision and the world around her for inspiration. Since the task of sourcing vintage fabrics is becoming increasingly difficult, the impetus to create fabulous designs is paramount.
Planet Ark awarded Natasha for her talented use of recycled fabric in 2005. The figures of everyday women are also integral to Natasha's designs. Her knowledge of fabrics, design and various figure types means that these garments look equally amazing both on and off the catwalk.
The Arthur Avenue range currently includes one-off women's dresses, tunics and singlets. Beautifully embellished baby singlets are also available. The range is constantly evolving and Arthur Avenue looks set to become a very exciting fashion destination!
