Project Description

Oceans & Wires was originally created by Claire Deak, to 'converse' with her musician friends scattered across the globe while she was temporarily isolated in shittsvile, and to find new people to compose for.

It consists of a varying collective of musicians who connect by making & recording music at an organised time from various locations all over the country, and all over the world.

Its community music making with friends, strangers, famous, the meek, the over confident, etc. Drop me a line if you do wish to partake as a performer (claire.louise.deak@gmail.com). There are a few tracks left before completing an album of sorts.

Finances raised will go to getting the tracks professionally mastered and pressed to CD.

Claire learned the basics of music by fumbling around on an old piano as a small child. She has studied composition at university, gained a masters in screen composition at Australia's prestigious film school (AFTRS) and has written music for a variety of film and television productions. Her most recent musical adventures include a series of short animated documentaries for SBS, a soundscape for a play in Melbourne and touring with a friend's band & 2 international acts around NSW, VIC and SA over summer.
