We Are Illuminated
Project Updates
I was interviewed about my fundbreak experience for local radio 3CR here in Melbourne. The program explored crowd funding and alternative methods of funding in the film industry. They've posted up a downloadable version of the program on the 3CR website. Check it out here. You'll need to scroll down the page to the program 'Jump Cut' from the 17th of September.
OK so the edit always takes longer than expected. We've now been editing for a few weeks (at nights and weekends) - and the film is really starting to take shape. Still much to be done but hopefully we'll be done with the edit by the end of next week and then can concentrate on the sound. Speaking of which, my brother has been developing the soundtrack music further and has explored the original theme (as is heard on the trailer on the fundbreak site) into something quite fantastic. I reckon those of you who've signed up to receive the soundtrack as part of your pledge will love it!
For those of you in Melbourne, I'll be presenting the trailer and speaking about my Fundbreak project for We Are Illuminated at Doco 3000 tonight. Love you to come along...

Last night we shot a sequence with dancer, Sarah Anesbury, in a nightclub setting. Had a great shoot and we used the red camera for the first time (thanks to Inspiration Studios in Port Melbourne!) as we wanted to shoot in slow motion. Here's a still from the shoot with my DOP Rich Kickbush setting the camera up onto a slider. As you can see that's me standing there offering as much assistance as I possibly can... William.

In other news: Spent the afternoon with editor Anna Brady yesterday going through the assembly edit. It's looking great and we are well on track to have a rough cut of the film by the end of the week.
Meantime I will be hooking up with my production team this week for a final week of pick up shooting to tie up loose ends.
We Are Illuminated and the Fundbreak project has been featured on the portable site...
