What the project is about.

i wish to establish a professional recording studio within the semi-rural setting of Bedfordale Western Australia. The studio will offer a high quality recording to bands with little funding using some of the best equipment possible all so those talented artists that deserve to be heard can be heard without having to cost them an arm and a leg.

Who am I, and what is my background.

I (Peter Lovell) has been working within the audio industry since 2007, from working within Perth theatres as a sound technician while studying at SAE for my Diploma in Music Production. Upon graduating I ventured over to Vancouver Canada where I was lucky enough to gain a position at “Greenhouse Recording Studio”. Greenhouse was within a building nicknamed “Song City” which contained a collective group of studios of various and highly regarded engineers.

As an intern I found himself to be the assisting engineer to Chris “Hollywood” Holmes, who has worked alongside such artists a Korn, Kill Hannah, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne, The Veer Union, and many many more. While working at Greenhouse I gained valuable knowledge and credits for my work with various local and international artists throughout Canada and the USA. After a year of solid work I returned back to Perth, Western Australia where I got back into theatre while working up the savings to establish my very own professional recording studio, thus leading to the creation of

“Pillbox Recording Studio”.

My Funding Goal.

My funding goal is for $10,000 in order to purchase the recording console needed to provide a sufficient high quality recording, where it is possible to spread out over 24 channels.

Any more further funding will be used to purchase more studio equipment that is needed, to offer clients a high quality recording without having to spend big at other studios.

$10,000 = A&H GS-R24m Recording Console (main target)

$3,000 = Apple Mac G5 Computer

$1,000 = Yamaha HS80m Studio Monitors

$600 = Pro Tools 10 software

$2,000+ = Nebulous items such as Plugins, XLR cables, microphone stands, computer PSU, surge protection, studio headphones, and other such items.
