And we're done!
posted 14 Nov 2011
Four weeks, 434% funded and three awesome events on the way!
So many big-huge thankyous need to go out to all of our supporters, promoters and retweeters. We're amazed and grateful for your generous support. Because of your pledges, we're able to bring our biggest party-planning skills to the LMGParty2011, Global Game Jam AND the Summer BBQ.
That's three events for the price of one!
We'll be busy little bees the next two weeks getting all of the final details prepared for the party later this month. Keep an eye on our website for further details and updates, and we'll see you all at the party. =)
Hi-fives all around!

44 hours to go, and we'll soon be doing the robot.

There's less than two days to go, and our Pozible drive has found it's accelerator and is plowing ahead!
We mentioned on Twitter (@letsmakegames) that if we reached the $1000, members of the LMG crew would dance the robot at the party. Well, prepare to be amazed, my friends!, as our most recent sponsors have nudged us past that formidable goal. Right this very minute I'm sure Nick is preparing his very best popping-and-locking moves.
Even though we have surpassed our party budget, we are still accepting funds that will be put towards our next two events - the Perth Global Game Jam and the Summer BBQ. We have recently pencilled in a venue for the GGJ, and more details will be available on our blog as we confirm the details. The money going towards these events will be a huge help in making sure we can provide sustainable shindigs that are useful and exceed the expectations of our community.
Thanks again to all of our amazing supporters and community. We're looking forward to bringing you events to match your levels of awesome.

One week to go!

With less than seven days to go, our Pozible drive is steaming ahead!
We've had a great influx of support from our community n the last week, and thanks to your generous support we're just shy of doubling our original goal. This means the party will almost be fully self-funded, and Let's Make Games can use our current cash reserves on door prizes, materials for games and other administrative costs.
We don't want it to stop here though. Beyond the party, we are already making plans for our next two events: Global GameJam Perth and the Summer BBQ. All funding beyond the $600 will go into supporting these further events, which will make our lives easier and our events better! Think of your support here as a multi-event sponsorship. =)
Thanks again to all of our amazing, generous supporters - without your support and encouragement we wouldn't be able to serve such an excellent community.

The Halfway Hump Update

Hey guys!
Here's some updates for you all with some fresh information to get you even more excited about the party.
Number Crunchin'
A few people have asked for further details on our fundraising drive here on Pozible. Here's how we're looking at the moment:
- We have reached our minimum goal of $300 - yay! This was the goal Let's Make Games had set with the intention of matching it dollar for dollar. It's the minimum we needed to make the party happen, and thanks to our first wave of sponsors our plans are go!
- Now we're aiming for $600. If we raise this further amount, it means we can use our carefully saved cash, squirrelled away like a forest rodent's precious acorn stash, for further ongoing expenses and extra event bits while the end-of-year party is predominantly self-funded.
- Funds raised beyond $600 will go directly towards some of next year's events, particularly Global Gamejam and the Summer BBQ. This would be great if we can raise some (or most!) of this money now, as this current Pozible drive will be the only way for you to directly support these free-to-attend events. Plus, raising money for these events now means we can spend our future volunteer time organising the actual events, instead of coming up with more ways to raise funds.
The Showreel
One of the traditions of our social functions is the video showreel. We have a healthy Youtube playlist of trailers, gameplay videos and various random bits from local game developers. This year's showreel is already looking pretty impressive, but there's always room for more!
If you have any WA-made gameplay or game-related videos on Youtube that you'd like to see showcased at the party, send us the link and we'll add it to our playlist.
That's All For Now!
Thanks again to all of our awesome supporters. It's great to know that we have an active and generous community!

Not even 48 hours... and we've hit 100%
posted 19 Oct 2011
It was only late Monday afternoon that we got this project online, and by lunchtime today we've hit our magical 100% goal.
That is, simply put, amazing!
We'd like to offer a huge thankyou to all of our supporters so far, including those of you from across the country (and even overseas!). We're very grateful for the quick response we've received, and look forward to rocking this party out.
But let's not stop here. This initial goal is what we needed to make ensure an awesome party, but with more funds we can make it MEGA-AWESOME. With more money we can make sure there is substantial food for everyone, games for people to play and bigger prizes.
Beyond that, we've already started planning our events for next year. Any overfunding that we can't use for the party we will squirrel away and save for the costs of our upcoming 2012 events. So don't worry if you want to support us but think we don't need any more help - your support here will help us hold bigger and better events next year as well.
Once again, thankyou for being an excellent community!
