Sencity - Party with your senses!!!
www.your-sencity.comSencity is a 'multi-sensory', multi-faceted, special and unique event for deaf, hard of hearing and hearing. The success of the concept has catapulted Sencity into fame within the deaf community in Europe and Africa and is now set to expand to Australia.
During this spectacular event the emotions and passions of music are converted to all senses. Deaf people cannot hear the melody of the music but they can capture the emotion of the music through their other senses – feel, see, smell and taste.

Through the use of special techniques such as “Vibrating dance floor”, we can let deaf people feel the music the way others hear it. Therefore vibrating sensors are installed under the dance platforms and plugged into the amplifiers so that the entire dance floor responds to the frequency of the music.
The lyrics are interpreted into sign language by so called “Sign-Singers”.
“Visual-Jockey”and "Food Jockey" provide more positive sense impressions.
Furthermore the nose of the party guest will be stimulated. The fragrance compositions of the “Aroma-Jockey” evoke similar emotions as the music does.
Additionally in the Sense Chill Zone, side performances are provided, e.g. Hair dressers, Make-up artists and massages.
Australia premiere
On the 27th of August 2010, Sencity celebrates its premiere in Australia. “The Deaf Club Sydney” supports the organization of Sencity Sydney. In the Home Nightclub up to 1,000 visitors are expected.
Home Nightclub is the ideal venue for Sencity Sydney, because it creates the perfect atmosphere with its high ceilings which give us the possibility to stimulate the senses on the highest possible level.

Why Sencity?
In Sydney there is a wide range of leisure activities for people which are deaf or hard of hearing. But they cannot easily access or enjoy those activities.
The offer for Music events for deaf people is limited. Going out at night is for deaf people often not an option, they stay in the deaf community and do not interact with others so much. This is why an option is created for them to experience a Music event which is specially organized with and for them.
In this way they can combine being together with other deaf and feel the passion emotion and atmosphere of going out to a Music event. This will be all supported by sense stimulating equipment. So a unique concept evolves for deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people.
It will also bring together deaf and hearing people, and create more networks for young deaf people.
The distribution of the funds
All supporting funds will be used for the production of the event. So you support in making this event a huge success, the money will go to the performers but also to finance the shipping of the vibrating dance floor for example.

Limitations that seem to exist often turn out to be imaginary. They are simply imaginations of the mind. Skyway Foundation shows, by means of its “Sencity” music events for deaf people, that there are no such boundaries!
But Skyway Foundation is more than just Sencity parties. The foundation inspires people to participate in activities which seem difficult to access at first. We inspire people and show them that if you really “go for it”, activities which seemed impossible initially are in reality accessible!
Skyway supports people to open their eyes and Support people in crossing their boundaries.
