Lilly's Madder Hatters Party
Project Description
I want to officially invite you to my hat show in September which is for the Manly Arts Festival. The actual date of the event is Friday the 10th September 2010 and will be at The Sugar Lounge in Manly. It will start at 7pm and go for as long as the fun wants to continue!
The event will be a Fashion Show - and I use the term `fashion show` lightly because it is more of a `happening to reveal and celebrate a world of hats and art, performance, music, body art, dance and mystery.
The project is designed to promote and facilitate creative moments and inspire artistic expression within all poeple involved - artists, guests, sponsors & producers alike.
I hope that you can come out for the night because it is for an excellent cause and will be a lot of fun! :)
I need to fund this project! - for the entire project I will need $4000 for things like: hat stands, picture framing, various decorations of the venue and hat materials, as well as clothing, hair, make-up, and body art (which are my biggest concerns - I need $1000 as soon as possible to secure the Make-up artist!)
I couldn't possibly ask for this amount of money from you alone, this is why I am trying to enrol as many people as possible in this process to help support me and this endevour.
I know that this is a lot of money to ask for, but anything that you would be willing and able to give to me to help support this project would be amazing and incredible!
Whatever you may like to give to me to help support this project would be infinately appreciated and I'd like to repay you with a piece of my work!
..and even if you don't want to give me any money, come out for the night because it's going to be really wicked, and a lot of fun!! :)
This show is about involving people in the process of creativity and collboration, as well as helping to raise funds for a local community projects. It is designed to promote art and creativity in all people through the experience of working together and sharing moments of pure expression.
I am looking to enrol YOU in the process! - giving yourself to the project only what you are able to give, in the hope of getting something that you value in return such as: Art, creativity, knowledge, understanding, experience, growth and or learning.
I want to be able to facilitate creative moments for people and share wicked experiences with artists and creative and like-minded people!

My whole life is a work of art and I have been an artist since as long as I can remember, I want to learn as much as I can and experience as much as I can of the Art World because it takes a whole lifetime to become a master in what you do. I am an extremely passionate person - about what I do and about what I believe in. I want to be able to communicate to people all of the abstract and intangible thoughts and ideas that I experience. I like to be real, aware and intelligent and I see beauty and life in all things.
I see myself as a communicator and facilitator for artists to connect and explore in the creative world. ‘I want to be able to inspire people to be creative and to be who they are, not to be afraid of differences and ignite the creative fire that is within all of us.’
I dance, draw, paint, photograph things, crochet, read, travel, have awesome adventures, build hats, write, plan events, drink tea, and whatever else I can think of - I don’t ever like to limit myself by any means, I have the mind-set that I can do anything and everything that I set my mind to, and if an opportunity comes my way, I grab it with both hands and fly with it! But I always strive to be as honest and true to myself as I can be, and remain as grounded and as down to earth as possible.
My Hats are made from ready-made hats, with the detail added on to create works of art. I use ribbons, fabric, buttons and feathers that I source and collect from my travels. I also crochet beanies for the cooler months of the year. My style is bright, vibrant and colourful and I’m not afraid to have a hat stand out in a crowd.
My other work is quite ‘graffiti like’ I would call myself an abstract expressionist. I like to use textas, paint and chrome pens to create tone and depth and many different dimensions. I use strong bold lines and bright colour to create form and shape. My style is very earthy and unusual; I love that everyone can see something different in my work.
I want to run workshops and share creativity with people, teach people, explore reality and feel everything that this world has to offer! I am all about standing up for what you believe in and being an individual with integrity! Be strong and happy and confident to be who you are because there is no one else out there the same as you!
I have completed half of my Bachelor Degree in the Creative Industries with a Major in Visual Art at Queensland University of Technology. I have taken a leave of absence this year to gain some vital knowledge and experience within the industry itself
My favorite artist is Hundertwasser.
