Attack of Shivers, a short film

Project Description

Hi, my name is Ewan MacLeod. I'm a writer and director working in Melbourne, Australia.

I have been making music videos as a director of the collective Krozm for 3 and a half years and recently I have worked doing motion design at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, as well as working part time for the Anti Racism Action Band a part of the Victorian Arabic Social Services helping young musicians achieve their goals by performing live shows around Melbourne.

Now I have made my first self funded short film: Attack of Shivers. The film is about a Frenchman and his strange life changing experience during an earthquake. The film was shot with the help of a bunch of friends all putting in a great deal of time and effort! At the moment the film's sound design is being finished partly in Lismore, Northern NSW and partly here in Melbourne. There is also an animated sequence in the film which is being hand drawn by a friend in Thailand.

At the moment I am seeking support of $2000.00 AUD to finish the project. This funding will help provide a token payment to a few people involved in the project's post production, as well as importantly allow the project to be professionally colour graded at a studio in Melbourne and transferred to formats for distribution.

The remaining funds will allow printing DVD copies of the film as well as go into paying for submission fees into Film Festivals both nationally and internationally.

Attack of Shivers is my first narrative based short film, with which I hope to gain entry to film festivals which in turn is a prerequisite to apply for several film directing internships and attachments to productions and progress as a director.

Please feel free to email me to watch a draft edit of the film or to have a more detailed synopsis of the project emailed to you.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you will play a small supportive part of turning Attack of Shivers into a finished short film.

My name is Ewan MacLeod.

I'm a writer and Director working in Melbourne, Australia. I studied film in 2006 and between 2007 and 2010 I worked as a director of the music video collective Krozm, building the collectives name and reputation with videos for Sarah Blasko, Midnight Juggernauts, Architecture in Helsinki and Cut Copy.

Late in 2010 I worked at ACMI on their summer exhibition for Walt Disney.

In 2011 I have written and filmed my first short narrative film: Attack of Shivers, when the project is completed it will be entered into film festivals both in Australia and America.

I come out of a visual arts painting background and started playing with video cameras and stop motion animation when I was 18 years old. Since then film making has always seemed like the logical art form to practise as it combines many elements I enjoy the process of making. Writing, directing, choreography, art directing, editing and producing.
