After five glorious issues of the extempore journal published from November 2008 to November 2010, we've taken the next big step - into book format! extempore 6 will be our first book format anthology of writing inspired by jazz and improvised music...

Your support is kind of a pre-purchase. By contributing now, you're guaranteeing that a copy of the book comes your way in 2012. If you've seen what we did with the journals - it's more of the same kind of thing - but a step up... We know you'll want to be part of extempore 6 once you've seen what we achieved with extempore 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5!

extempore 6 will include interviews, essays, fiction and poetry inspired by jazz and improvised music in Australia. We'll have the same focus on great design and high quality content as the five journal issues did - with a bit of extra 'oomph' [technical term] and 'zushiness' [also a technical term]. If this goes well, we'll be doing more!

And remember, you are supporting a an intelligent, collaborative feast of great reading inspired by music. The kind of thing that keeps a cultural landscape vibrant, varied and alive.  Well done you!
